Game
Title: Text Message Challenge
Best
Environment: Seated before youth service or event
Equipment
Needed:
Mobile of person running game,
Prepared difficult text message I.e. antidisestablishmentarianism
Setup
Time: 15 mins
Game
Instructions: Create a PowerPoint display with the
sentence or
word of your choice. Then your young people, using their phones, are to
type in the text message and send to a predetermined phone number. The
first message received with the correct grammar and spelling is the
winner.

of people involved: Anyone who has a mobile phone

Title: Slip n slide of Death
Best
Environment: Preferably outdoors or indoors with suitable
facilities.
Equipment
needed:
Tarp
Gym Mats to be placed under tarp (approx 5m wide by 5 m long)
4 buckets or bowls
4 cups
Dishwashing liquid or similar
Water
Poncho’s/Protective coat for clothes
Setup
time: 30 mins
Game
instructions: Mats are to be placed in a square. Then,
placing the
tarp over the mats, cover the tarp with dishwashing liquid to make as
slippery as possible. The 4 buckets are to be placed in the corners of
the mat. The buckets are approx half full with water.
In 4 teams, the youth, one person from a team at a time, run around
collecting water from other teams bucket. After a time of (3-5 mins)
the game is stopped and the team with the most water in their bucket
wins

time: 5 mins-30 mins. The game could be run several times.

Title: Couch Racing
Best
Environment: Outdoors
Equipment
Needed:
2 or more couches with wheels – preferably old worn couches
Helmets
Setup
Time: 5 minutes
Game
Instructions: A team of 4 will be needed for each couch
– 2
to sit on the couch and 2 to push. The couches will be pushed from one
side of the “track” to the other as fast as
possible. The
track can be a straight stretch, or have some curves and turns to make
it difficult. The first couch team to finish wins.
Number of People Involved: 4 per couch
Game Time: Depending on the track size, roughly 5 minutes per race.

Title: Stompers
Best
Environment: Indoors in a large space
Equipment
Needed: String, packet of balloons, scissors
Setup
Time: 5 minutes
Game
Instructions: Tie a balloon above the ankle of each person
involved. The objective is to pop everyone else’s balloon by
stomping it out. Once a person’s balloon has popped, they are
out. The last person with a balloon still on their leg wins.

Title: Find The Keys
Best
Environment: Large indoor space
Equipment:
Pool Noodles, Blindfold, Keys.
Setup
Time: Less than 5 minutes
Game
Instructions: A Person is blindfolded and handed a pool
noodle. A
set of keys are placed at their feet and a second person tries to get
the keys without the person with the pool noodle hitting them. Be aware
of young people that may be likely to hit too hard.

Title: Russian Roulette
(modified of course...)

Environment: Indoors. Try to avoid carpeted areas.
Setup
time: 5 minutes
Equipment:
Vacuum with reverse cycle, Flour, Protective clothing (poncho)
Game
Instruction: Youth to be split into 2 teams and then
representatives are called to answer questions. Questions can be random
or themed to your liking. The person who doesn’t get the
answer
correct is to go up against the vacuum cleaner. The vacuum is turned
off at the power point and the on/off button is pressed rapidly to give
the Russian Roulette effect. Flour is placed in the vacuum and then the
nozzle is place in the face of the person and then turned on at the
point.
